Molly LaFlesh Joins the Jetpac Team
Welcome Molly!
With increasing numbers of American Muslims running for office, Jetpac’s work is ramping up. We welcome Molly LaFlesh to the team at this key moment.
A longtime Jetpac volunteer, you may know Molly as Nadeem Mazen’s assistant for the past eighteen months. She joins us as our first-ever Program, Development, and Events Coordinator. This “triple-barrel” title means Molly will focus on:
Program and Development:
“I’m working to build Jetpac’s youth programs. We desperately need to bring our AP-accredited U.S. Government & Politics course to more schools. We’re also launching a weekend program for teenagers that teaches the basics of civics and organizing.”
Communications:
“Ability to tell stories is important. We have to increase our visibility.”
Events:
Molly will be responsible for the smooth planning of happenings like Jetpac’s upcoming Winter Banquet, which she’s done in a volunteer capacity for over a year. “I want to increase community engagement by organizing more events. Keep an eye out for more house parties, dinners, intellectual events, and even poetry readings.”
On joining Jetpac
“I am frustrated how Muslims are perceived in this country. I want others to see this community for what it is: warm, welcoming, 100% American. I want to help humanize the Muslim community in whatever small way I can.”
Why Jetpac?
“I can see the impact. I can see clear and concrete changes that Jetpac is making. I am proud to be a part of this amazing team.”
A New England native, Molly has lived in Boston for over a decade. She is a published poet with a BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College. Welcome, Molly!
