Suzan El-Rayess joins the Jetpac team!

The Jetpac team is growing! We are excited to announce Suzan El-Rayess has joined Jetpac as Director of Operations, Strategy & Development. Suzan comes to Jetpac with a career in public-sector leadership, having served as an advisor to multiple candidates and elected officials at the City and State levels.

Suzan El-Rayess joins Jetpac to lead the organization’s operations and sustainable growth strategy. As part of her long career in public-sector leadership and nonprofit development, Suzan served as Civic Engagement Director at the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center (ISBCC), the largest Muslim institution in New England. She led ISBCC’s efforts in the areas of public affairs, interfaith engagement and media relations. Prior to this, Suzan was Director of Development and led ISBCC’s financial sustainability strategy, and shaped the organization’s long term vision to meet the needs of its 1,400 diverse congregants. Suzan has also worked at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Women and Public Policy Program – Harvard’s leading center focused on gender-based public policy and leadership research.

A passionate advocate for diversity and representation of minority and faith communities in public service, Suzan served on the board Mayor Marty Walsh’s Office of Immigrant Advancement and as a member of the strategy team for the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO) which engages civic leaders on issues of social justice.

Suzan holds a Master of Public Administration in Urban Policy and Public Sector Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Affairs from Northeastern University. She is a proud Boston native.

“I am humbled by this opportunity. Jetpac is an incredible platform to teach and train minority organizers, particularly American Muslims, on how to lead in the public sphere. I look forward to working with this creative and inspiring team at Jetpac to provide training for our youth and aspiring political candidates.” -Suzan El-Rayess

Executive Director of Jetpac Shaun Kennedy is excited about Suzan joining the team. “She brings a depth of experience in civics and interfaith organizing, is passionate about the Jetpac mission and has extensive experience working with the Greater Boston Muslim community. We couldn’t be happier,” he said.

“I’m thrilled, Jetpac is thrilled, our Fellows are thrilled, and the community is thrilled to have Suzan leading alongside Shaun in the Jetpac team. With dedicated and proven civic trainers and nonprofit leaders at the helm, Jetpac steps into a period of sustainable growth and strategic community impact that we hope lasts for generations to come,” said Nadeem Mazen, Founding President of Jetpac, Inc.
