Intern with Jetpac

Jetpac is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to increasing minority participation in the democratic process. We are based out of Cambridge, MA and looking for dedicated, organized, and ambitious interns on a rolling basis. Political Communications/Development Intern

Role Description:

Create engaging digital content for fundraising purposes, including social media, and email campaigns. This content will be targeted to high-propensity donors from marginalized communities around the country, and drive fundraising efforts for 2019. The intern will assist with digital micro-targeting, create engaging copy and visual content to deliver to that audience, and track campaign goals across all of our digital platforms. This internship role will work in tandem with our social media team to deliver campaign-specific content.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing, or recently graduated with, a Communications major, Political Science, Marketing, or related degree
  • Interest in political campaigns, digital marketing, and/or nonprofit development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with web-based analytics services for popular social media platforms like Facebook Insights and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of influencers connected to our constituent community
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite design products, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, preferred

Social Media/Graphic Design Intern

Role Description:

Manage, develop, and maintain Jetpac’s social media presence across many channels, including curation and publishing of content that appeals to Jetpac’s community, triaging and responding to incoming communications, researching appropriate articles, stories, or other content that is relevant to our community, scheduling posts in line with outreach and fundraising appeals, moderating public comments and member discussion boards, and analyzing and reporting on social media activity. As necessary, you will attend events and capture audio/visual content to share across our social media networks.

Successful applicants with an interest and background in design will use Adobe Suite products to create visually engaging content for our website and social media channels.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing, or recently graduated with, a Communications major or related degree

  • Interest in business marketing, nonprofit development, and/or digital engagement campaigns

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

  • Familiarity with web-based analytics services for popular social media platforms

  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite design products, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, preferred


Government Affairs Intern

Role Description:

The Government Affairs Intern will research candidates for the 2020 presidential election to produce score-cards that will inform our constituency of those candidates’ voting history and stance on issues affecting marginalized communities in America. The intern will also support relationship building efforts undertaken by the organization with representatives and community leaders across the country at all levels of government. The Government Affairs intern may from time to time be called to work on partner projects with a national coalition of similar organizations.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing, or recently graduated with a Political Science or related degree

  • Interest in public affairs, legislation, and progressive policy

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Familiarity with existing legislative tracking services
